A SimTrade simulation is a unique experience of financial markets. You have access to a trading platform that allows you, in a fictitious way, to buy or sell stocks of traded companies (BestPizza in this simulation).
Specificity of SimTrade, you can see the impact of your orders on the market. This impact translates into the variation of the stock price, the price increasing after a buy order or decreasing after a sell order that you sent to the market.
A SimTrader is a user of SimTrade.
The simulation Send an order allows you to live a trading day in financial markets in an accelerated manner. For many SimTraders, it will be the first contact with financial markets, their first opportunity to send an order to the market!
Your objective in this simulation is to send your first order to the market and to see how you have influenced the market.
The gain or loss of the SimTrader at a given point of time of the simulation corresponds to the variation of the position of the SimTrader since the beginning of the simulation. At the beginning of the simulation, the gain/loss is then equal to zero.
The variation of the position (gain or loss) is displayed on the top of the page "My account". A gain appears in green and a loss in red.
The position of the SimTrader is equal to his/her cash and his/her assets valued at the market price (latest transaction price).
Note that the gain or loss is in general different from the capital gain or loss of the portfolio. The capital loss and gain is equal to the difference between the assets valued at their market price and the assets valued at their historical price (the price they were bought). The gain or loss displayed on the top of the page corresponds to the variation of the position of the SimTrader since the beginning of the simulation.
Yes.
The simulation Send an order can be relaunched by the SimTrader an unlimited number of times.
Without intervention of the SimTrader during the simulation, the simulation is always the same in terms of news about the firm, orders sent by simulated traders by the mathematical financial model, evolution of the BPZ stock price and transaction volume, etc.
With intervention of the SimTrader during the simulation, each simulation will be different, the SimTrader having an impact on the market.
The simulation is launched as soon as you click on the button « Launch the simulation ».
You then arrive on the page « Trading », which allows you to visualize the financial market and to intervene in the market. The market is characterized by the limit order book, the history of transactions and the chart of stock prices and transaction volumes. You can intervene in the market by sending orders.
The TimeLine is the zone situated on the top of each page of the simulation (Scenario, Trading, My position, News, Firm, Analysis, FAQ).
The TimeLine gives you information about the state of the simulation and the state of the market. It also allows the SimTrader to manage its simulation.
The TimeLine gives information about the state of the simulation: the blue gauge progressively advances through the simulation and a percentage (46% in the image below) indicates the degree of progress of the simulation.
When the simulation is completed, the TimeLine indicates 100% as in the image below.
The TimeLine gives information about the state of the market: green if the market is open, red if the market is closed.
The TimeLine also allows the SimTrader to manage the simulation with the following buttons: to pause the simulation, to change the speed of the simulation, to relaunch the simulation and to update the entire page.
